Participants attending and completing 8 hours with 400 rounds discharged, receive serial numbered certificates outlining all training topics within this program.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  ۩ Personal Sidearm  ۩  Holster  ۩  Magazine holders  ۩  Minimum Three Magazines 15 round capacity or Four magazines 10 rounds capacity.  ۩ Safety Glasses  ۩  Cleaning Kit  ۩  Hearing Protection ۩ Knee and Elbow Pads  ۩ 400 Factory Rounds (No Reload Ammo)

 

Tactical sidearm obstacle engagement is available to everyone who has a current State Concealed Firearms License or shows NRA certification on safety and/or sidearm shooting. Tactical sidearm obstacle engagement primary objective is to increase knowledge and skills with drills emphasis on defense engagement scenarios for personal defense including multiple hostile engagements.

 

Outline

 

This program involves 400 live fire rounds on an outdoor range with 7 shooting stations. This program includes quick drawing against multiple targets, prone shooting on multiple targets (belly, right side, left side and back), on the move shooting multiple targets (forward, backwards, sideways left / right), duck / cover knee shooting and maze negotiation.

 

After training on all stations, all participants will go through the obstacle three times. The first run through is practice. The second run through is timed. The third run through is beating the times second run.

 

Participants will reinforce the following:

 

  ۩  “Ready Stance” and “Safety Circle” - (stationary and moving)

  ۩  Visual and Feel Weapon's Clearing - (Important for dim and night time engagements)

  ۩  Safe Load and Unload Procedures

  ۩  Muzzle Discipline - (safety and line of sight)

  ۩  Trigger Discipline / Control / Reset (2,3 and 4 round burst) - (multiple target drills and ammo management.) 

  ۩  Sidearm Stoppage Immediate Action Drills - (tap and rack)

  ۩  Quick Close Quarter Draw - (forearm's length from target and not extend sidearm to target)

  ۩  Quick Draw and Evade - (moving off center and engage on secondary target)

  ۩  Emergency Speed Loading - (during cover) 

  ۩  Tactical and Retention Reloading - (cover and moving)

  ۩  Single Hand Shooting and Grip Switching - (dominate to non-dominate hand grip switching)  

  ۩  Single Hand Immediate Action Drill  - (tap, rack, clear, rack and engage)

  ۩  Single Hand Magazine Change and Rack - (release, load, rack and engage)

  ۩  On The Move Shooting - (forward, backward and side motions) 

  ۩  Stationary Shooting - (kneeling and sitting) 

  ۩ Prone Positions - (belly, left and right side, back)

  ۩ Obstacle Course Multiple Target

 

Body Alignment Targeting -

Accurate target engagement; without using sidearm sights. Double Hand Shooting, and Single Hand Shooting. Instinctual body alignment is used during dim light and night time engagements. No sidearm sight alignment will be used.

 

8 Hour Completion Training Certificate Awarded with serial Numbers.

 

Bodyguard Principles Instructors and Range Safety Officers has the right to stop anyone from proceeding with the program if they deem a person Un-Safe with their firearm.
